Q. Can I view the tarp or pickup - I live close to one of your warehouses?
A. Sorry we can't offer pickup or retail showroom facilities - our tarps are packed ready for shipping. We don’t keep every size and grade in each warehouse so may need to ship your order from another state.
For metro areas we offer express shipping and in the rare event you aren't happy with your purchase you are covered by a no questions 30 day money back guarantee.
Q. What is the difference between the 240gsm Heavy Duty grade with D Rings and the one with reinforced eyelets?
A. The fabric we use is the same for both, but in our experience the reinforced eyelets make a stronger tarp. We have a larger range of sizes available with eyelets. We find Campers often request D Rings but both the eyelets and D Rings are designed to work with tent poles.
D Rings are at approx. 915mm intervals around the edges whereas our reinforced eyelets are at approx. 1000mm intervals.
D Rings sit approx. 20mm outside the tarp edge - the eyelets sit approx. 20mm in from the edge.
Q. The size I need isn't listed. Can you make me a tarp?
A. Yes - we're a manufacturer that's how we can offer such great prices. For custom work we have min charges and there may be delays in our factory so it may be best to choose from one of our stock sizes.
Just use the contact us link to send us your requirements and we can get you a quote.
Don't forget to include your postcode so we can estimate delivery charges and let us know your purpose for the tarp so we can suggest the most appropriate fabric grade.
Q. Do your tarps have warranties?
A. Yes. All goods sold in Australia are covered by statutory warranties. UV protection is probably the most important feature for tarps in Australia and we can guarantee all our fabrics are UV stabilised and made from Virgin PE - not weaker recycled PE.
We provide a full description of our tarps and the features are listed. Not all tarps are suitable for all applications so it is important you purchase the correct grade for your application.
As a general rule cheaper means weaker - don't expect the cheapest grade to stand up to the most demanding applications. If in doubt just ask – we’re happy to help.
Q. Why is your 215gsm so much cheaper than the 240gsm grade
A. The 215gsm fabric is very strong but to keep the prices down we heat seam a double seam and punch in an aluminium eyelet. In our 240gsm grades we heat seal a double seam also but then sew in a double reinforcing patch and punch in a solid nickel plated brass eyelet with a sawtooth washer through the 3 layers of fabric.
The sawtooth washer punches through the 3 layers of fabric and will not pull out. This makes a much stronger eyelet but is more time consuming and therefore more expensive to make.
The 240gsm has a better UV rating but the main difference is the strength of the eyelets – the fabric will typically burst before the eyelets gives out in the 240gsm grade – whereas in the 215gsm grade the aluminium eyelets will bend and pull out from the fabric when under strain.
We don’t recommend the 215gsm grade is used where the tarp is to be suspended in the air as the eyelets aren’t strong enough– but is a great low cost option for covering building materials or items on the ground to keep them dry and out of the sun.
